Scientia Imperii Decus et Tutamen is an old latin adage which translates to 'Knowledge, the crowning glory and the safeguard of the empire.' This saying was adopted by different universities as their motto which highlights the importance of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
In today's context, this old saying resonates with all businesses, organizations, and corporations. Knowledge is an important variable that has an important role in the organization's preservation, continuity, and expansion. It is therefore important for the organization to employ knowledge management.

Organizations and corporations like the Ayala Foundation Inc. will definitely benefit if they have an institutionalized Knowledge Management. Two reason why knowledge management will be an instrumental tool for organizations:
Efficient sharing of specialist expertise. Employees in organizations come and go, this means that the employees' tenure in the organization is not perpetual, they may leave the organization for better opportunities, retire, or will ultimately face the avoidable passing to the afterlife. Knowledge Management, therefore, helps in preserving and sharing all the employees' specialist expertise when they leave the organization.
Easier retrieval of information and resources. When organizations plan, implement, and evaluate certain organizational policies, program, and projects, a repository of knowledge and information could easily be retrieved if the organization uses knowledge management. The usage of the repository of knowledge and information plays as a guide in assessing where the organization can improve and which best practices should be continuously employed.
